In education news, Timothy has accepted a part-time position as music teacher at Providence Classical School in Williamsburg, Virginia. This school year will have many opportunities for nurturing young minds, as well as his many other activities at Pine Wind Music!

We've been really busy traveling to Kentucky, the Cumberland Gap, Northern Virginia, Michigan, upstate New York, and more, during the past six weeks, but we're home again for a while!
Today we needed to order another 1,000 copies of the Civil War album Tenting on the Old Camp Ground, so now the total number of tapes and discs we've made is about 128,000!

For Saint Patrick's Day we've just made and uploaded two new videos: 1) the great Irish air 'Blind Mary' by Turlough O'Carolan, played on pianistic solo hammered dulcimer; 2) another excellent Irish air, 'Down By the Sally Gardens,' on pennywhistle! ('Blind Mary' is also available in a studio recording with additional instruments on our album Celtic Airs.)

We've posted another video, StringWind Trio's improvisational version of 'Far Away' by Peter Jung, similar to the version we learned from our friend and colleague, Celtic harper Ardie Boggs.

We've just posted another informal video of an Irish tune on pennywhistle called 'Boys of Blue Hill,' one Timothy has played since the 1970s. In this video he's playing a Jerry Freeman Bluebird whistle.
Just a note about the performance calendar: We had mistakenly listed the Peninsula Fine Arts Center event as February 21, but it's actually on March 21! It's now been changed in the website calendar, but if you go to that wonderful gallery tomorrow, Timothy won't be there!

We've just successfully completed our first SkypeTM hammered dulcimer lesson! That makes it official, that Timothy is able to offer lessons via SkypeTM using his stereo webcam with a Zeiss lens. The rates are the same as for in-person lessons (pretty reasonable), and they can be done in any time zone! Historic Jamestowne on Jamestown Island (the first permanent English speaking settlement in America) has produced a beautiful short video about their archaeology and nature, etc., and they've used our music in it! The track is Phil Skeens's composition 'Great Blue Heron' on our album Virginia Wildlife.
